John Bishop

John Bishop Bio

John Bishop is the Senior Pastor of Living Hope Church in Vancouver, Washington USA. He is married to his beautiful wife, Michelle, and has three children, David, Katie and Hannah.

Pastor John graduated from Saint Martin's College with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management in 1989. After coming to Christ following an accident in which he nearly lost his life, Pastor John felt an immediate call to ministry and began school at Western Seminary in 1990. In 2004, he was excited to graduate with his Masters of Arts in Transformational Leadership from Western Seminary.

Pastor John and Michelle, along with four other families, planted Living Hope Church in 1996. Currently Living Hope is one of the fastest growing churches in America with weekend services at campuses in Washington State which includes a Hispanic service, Oregon, Hawaii and international campuses in New Zealand and Mexico. Pastor John passionately leads the multiple teams of staff and volunteers who are the heart and soul of the church's mission to reach lost people for Christ.

As a pastor John strives to cultivate an "Acts 2" church where people pursue being fully devoted Christ followers, and serve each other. He longs for church to be a place where people live the values Jesus died for. He also has a heart for other pastors and loves helping other churches reach their full redemptive potential. This led him to establish the "Only God" church network which helps provide leadership, creative and other valuable resources as well as connection for pastors and churches both locally and internationally.

His favorite part of full time ministry is working alongside the people he loves, including his wife Michelle, who works closely with him each day. Pastor John's only life goal is to know Jesus more every day. In the words of first century Jews, his hope is to be covered in the dust of his Rabbi.

Parachute Band Bio

In 1996, The Parachute Band was born: a collective of musicians gathered together for the purpose of leading worship at New Zealand's Parachute Music Festival. Ten years after the birth of the band, the mantle was passed from one generation to the next….

A new line-up with a fresh new sound now carry the mandate for the Parachute Band - the same heart, enveloped in a new voice for this generation. Enter Omega Levine (worship leader), Sam de Jong, Rhys Machell, Alister Wood and Simon Moore; exhibiting the hearts of their predecessors, and the assurance of a band who are prepared to push the boundaries of modern music.

Exploring the aggressive pursuit of a new breed of worship, this band is not afraid to step up to the plate and make some noise, testing the limits of their guitar-driven song writing. In this, however, they are determined to stay true to the real heart and lifeblood of their mission; "We're just five guys, passionately journeying to know God better, and to point everything to Him," enthuses worship leader Levine.

The challenge of the words in Psalm 119 "Barricade the road that goes to nowhere...I choose the true road to somewhere...I'll run the course you lay out for me" is at the very core of the band's new album Roadmaps and Revelations.

After an extensive world tour in 2007 including powerful performances at Creation and Alive Festivals, and armed with a new album, the Parachute Band is set to lead another generation into the presence of their Maker.
